The design and implementation of a new UI for a Production Management System

The problem

Production management in large companies requires specialized production management system software – MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solutions, which consist of computer systems, electronic equipment and automation components that enable the gathering of data in order to optimize the entire production process. This class of systems allows in particular the tracking and visualization of real-time production performance, monitoring of production downtimes and the scheduling of production. Customers who opt for this type of production management system software expect that the implementation will improve the entire process of production and will not involve a very large investment. Therefore, there was a need to create a dedicated, intuitive user interface that will facilitate the usage of the web-based MES system.

The solution

The goal of the project was to develop and implement a dedicated user interface for the Production Management System. During the process the Sensinum team conducted comprehensive work related to the design and implementation of the new interaction model for the application. The application logic was implemented in accordance with the RWD guidelines, using technologies such as AngularJS, HTML5 and CSS3. Moreover, another goal of the project was to develop a concept of a hybrid mobile application and migrate the old version of the Production Management System to the new version of the application interface.

Results

The implementation of the dedicated UI considerably simplified interaction with the application. Complicated processes are now presented in an intuitive, user-friendly way, which greatly accelerated data entry, improved the readability of the information and enhanced working comfort. The utilization of modern IT solutions allowed for a significant optimization and acceleration of the front-end layer, so that the application can run smoothly on popular consumer devices.

A touchless method of assessing a patient’s motor dysfunctions in neurodegenerative diseases

The project’s goal was to create a web-based system that through using modern 3D cameras would allow a touchless analysis of patient’s upper limb movements. Therefore it would be possible to perform an objective assessment of the patient’s motor dysfunction, together with a quantitative description of each symptom. The system was developed using HTML5 and AngularJS technologies, thus can be run in any web browser on any computer. During the project we also developed specialized algorithms for data analysis based on digital signals.

OLAP cubes to analyze measurements from the BMS-class system

In developing the technology model for the construction of passive buildings, assumptions are made that ultimately may differ from reality. The validation of a real object for compliance with the previously established model makes it possible to improve the technology. For this purpose, it is necessary to have a tool for collecting large amounts of data from the object and storing the information about all of the completed measurements, as well as historical data.
