A leading global retailer set out to unify and streamline communication across its vast, geographically distributed workforce. The aim was to reduce operational costs and increase productivity by providing a centralized, intuitive platform accessible to all employees — regardless of their technical skills. In collaboration with the Sensinum team, the retailer successfully cut down paperwork, accelerated internal processes, and improved daily operations. The resulting “One Stop Shop” platform now saves the company millions of pounds every year.
The Challenge
The retailer was relying on various regional third-party tools to manage the same set of centrally governed processes. These fragmented solutions lacked scalability, customization, and geographical consistency. Moreover, they didn’t align with corporate identity guidelines and were difficult to access for many of the 500,000 employees.
The Sensinum team was brought in to build a unified solution — one that could empower employees to manage work schedules, tasks, and accounts through a seamless self-service experience.
The Solution
The Sensinum team designed and delivered a robust Micro Frontend platform consisting of over 20 modular applications. Built with TypeScript, React, and SingleSPA, the system prioritized maintainability, scalability, and enterprise-grade security.
To maximize accessibility, the platform was deployed across web and mobile (iOS and Android) using a combination of Progressive Web App (PWA) and hybrid app technologies. It also adhered to the client’s strict branding requirements, all within a scalable Enterprise Micro Frontend architecture.
