Facile.it stands as Italy’s leading online platform for comparing prices across various services, including insurance, utilities, and financial products. To efficiently manage content across its diverse brand portfolio, Facile.it required a unified and adaptable content management system. While Strapi served as their chosen headless CMS, it lacked inherent support for multi-domain management. To bridge this gap, Sensinum team engineered a bespoke multi-domain plugin, resulting in a robust editorial dashboard and domain-specific data models tailored for a seamless and personalized user experience. 
The Challenge
Facile.it’s existing infrastructure involved a significant amount of custom code to integrate various business operations. Implementing and customizing a multi-domain plugin posed a complex engineering challenge, necessitating alignment with Facile.it’s specific requirements and business model. Given the company’s adherence to stringent legal and organizational security standards, they sought a partner capable of meeting these multifaceted needs. Sensinum, with its VL Group ISO 27001 certification and extensive experience in the Strapi plugin ecosystem, emerged as the ideal collaborator for this endeavor.
The Solution
Sensinum team delivered a foundational multi-domain plugin, subsequently customized to align with Facile.it’s unique requirements. Key enhancements included: 
- Advanced Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Extending Strapi’s default RBAC, Sensinum team integrated a sophisticated, client-specific multi-level RBAC system, enabling granular user permission management.
- Customized Content API Tooling: Developed bespoke tools tailored to Facile.it’s distinct data handling needs, ensuring efficient content management and delivery. 
- Enhanced Media Library Functionality: Modified the Media Library to better align with Facile.it’s content management workflows, facilitating more streamlined operations.

The Results
The collaboration between Facile.it and Sensinum team yielded several significant outcomes: 
- Seamless Activation and Deactivation: Facile.it can now toggle the customized extension without disrupting Strapi’s core functionalities. Any necessary core modifications were implemented as detachable patches, preserving the integrity of the CMS. 
- Enhanced RBAC and Relationship Management: By leveraging and extending Strapi’s native capabilities, the plugin streamlined access governance and content delegation, making these processes more flexible and intuitive. 
- Virtual Context Implementation: Introduced a virtual interface context critical to the multi-domain strategy, ensuring consistent and clear management of entities across various divisions. 
- Commitment to Quality Assurance: The development process emphasized quality, incorporating TypeScript, unit testing, and end-to-end (E2E) testing to ensure a seamless development experience.
